Merwin retired in 2020 after a distinguished career, primarily as an Operations Director with a leading US multinational corporation in the high-tech manufacturing industry. In this significant role, he was instrumental in overseeing all logistics operations, import/export compliance, and global distribution and transportation functions. Before his tenure in high-tech manufacturing, Merwin also gained valuable experience within other MNCs, having worked in publishing with an American multinational. Earlier in his career, he contributed to retail management with local, not-for-profit educational co-operatives.
Since his retirement, Merwin has transitioned into freelancing as an independent consultant. Driven by a keen interest in agriculture and food security, he pursued an urban agriculture and culinary course. He actively volunteers with several non-profit initiatives, including Ground-up Initiatives, a local organic farming community, and Hearty Meals, a platform connecting the elderly socially over meals.
Merwin holds an M.Sc. in Innovation & Entrepreneurship from the Singapore Management University and a B.Sc. in International Business from the University of Bradford.
